Internet Safety
Internet Safety
Find out how to Stay Safe when surfing the Internet.
Who Am I Talking to Online?
Remember people can pretend to be anyone on the Internet. Never agree to meet anyone you have met on the web unless you talk to your parent or carer first.
Personal Information
Information you put on the Internet can be read by anyone. Never put your details on the Internet, this includes your full name, address, date of birth, home telephone number, mobile number, photograph of yourself or email unless you have permission from your parent/carer. Remember people could use your personal information and pretend to be you.
Information on the Internet
There is a lot of good information on the Internet but remember anybody can create a website. Sometimes this information may not be correct check that the website has been created by experts in the field. Ask an adult to help if you are not sure.
Does it Make You Feel Uncomfortable?
When you go onto a website or open an email you may sometimes find something different than you were expecting. If this happens close the site down straight away and tell a parent/carer or adult you trust. You haven’t done anything wrong and will not get into trouble.
Cyber Bullying
If someone sends you a message that you don’t like, do not reply. Show an adult if it makes you upset and if they continue to send this type of message let your internet provider know
